ACNE SCARRING - eMatrix

Acne scar treatments require that a person's skin be free of active acne

What is eMatrix?

Sublative Rejuvenation is a non-laser and non-light based treatment that utilizes fractionated bipolar radio frequency technology to place the heat energy effectively into the dermis where it can produce significant dermal impact and collagen stimulation with minimal epidermal disruption.

Sublative Rejuvenation may result in improvement of:

  • Wrinkles
  • Skin Laxity
  • Acne Scars
  • Textural Irregularities

How it works

The radio frequency energy generates fractional deep dermal heating in the region of the electrode matrix to induce new collagen formation. Less affected tissue surrounding the matrix points may be stimulated by heat which helps accelerate the healing process, leading to a tighter, more rejuvenated appearance of the skin.

Downtime includes some redness for 24-48 hours and pin point scabs that can be covered by makeup and eventually slough off after about 7 days. Patients may experience some minor swelling for the first couple of days. There is minimal pain associated with the eMatrix treatment that most patients describe as a sunburn which subsides after 2 hours.

After 3-4 treatments with the eMatrix system, most patients showed improvement in facial parameters such as skin brightness and skin smoothness/wrinkle reduction.

eMatrix features:

  • Quick treatments: typically 20-30 minutes depending on area treated
  • Minimal downtime so patients can quickly resume their normal activities
  • Short treatment protocol: 4-8 treatments, 4-6 weeks apart
  • Safe for all skin types

Patients treating acne scars typically need at least 4 treatments, but up to 8 treatments may be necessary. Results are not immediate as it takes collagen about 3 months to be generated.
